Cambodia Overland Adventure This tour will take you to the ancient, imperial Khmer capital of Angkor, World Heritage Site and one of the 7 wonders of the world, the bustling and fascinating present-day capital of Phnom Penh and vibrant modern Bangkok. Tour Highlights: Phnom Penh, Angkor Wat, Tropical Flora and Fauna; Cambodian River Trip, 3 days Angkor itinerary, Bangkok and Southeast Asian Food. Day 1: Departure from your Point of Origin. Day 2: Meet in Bangkok for a morning flight to Phnom Penh. Check-in to a small, comfortable, downtown hotel close to the historic riverbank quarter and afternoon walking tour to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. Day 3: Day tour of some of the sites of Cambodia's capital city; the 'Russian market', 'Killing Fields' site and highly moving Khmer Rouge Genocide Museum, Tuol Sleng. Day 4: Travel up the Tonle Sap River to the small provincial town of Siem Reap in Western Cambodia - our base for the next few days and the 'jump-off point' for the nearby Angkor temple complex. Sunset visit to the ruins of Ta Prom Temple. Days 5 & 6: Angkor - an unforgettable two-day exploration of this fabulous site, ruined palaces and jungle clad temples - words can't do it justice. A comprehensive tour of the major sites, including sunrise and sunset visits. Day 7: Morning to relax or take in the local markets and an afternoon trip to one of the more remote sites such as Banteay Srei. Day 8: Travel overland through the Cambodian countryside to the Thai border at Poipet and on to Bangkok.
Day 9: At
leisure in Bangkok, last minute shopping, checking-out some of the City
sites or just relaxing by the pool recovering from Cambodian roads.
